Sažetak
The paper analyses environmental strain and models of
management of multimillion cities. In the last 30 years many
multimillion urban agglomerations have developed.
According to the United Nations this trend will be continued.
What is disturbing is that almost all the newly established
multimillion cities have appeared or are predicted to appear,
in the underdeveloped world. Thus the question of adequate
management of big cities in developing countries in
circumstances of insufficient material funding and lacking
managerial skills. With regard to different degrees of
economic development of megacities and their economic
power, various types, i.e. generations, of environmental
problems and life quality risks have been pointed out.
Varying developmental stages of megacities, with
corresponding environmental problems and risks that follow,
have different priorities and demand specific models of
management.
