Sažetak
This paper deals with problems of lexicographic analysis of adjectivized and substantivized participial forms and situations when the participles are analyzed as independent lexical items (headwords). The processes of adjectivization and substantivization of participial forms are evident even in the lexicon of classical Old Church Slavonic manuscripts. The result of adjectivization process is the complete fading of participle’s verbal categories as well as a development of potential or qualitative meaning. The existence of comparative and superlative forms additionally confirms the development of qualitative meaning of participles. A specialized use of the word, as well as terminological meanings, indicates the adjectivization and substantivization of participle. The treatment of participles as an independent lexical item or adjectivized and substantivized participles depends on comparison to parallels in Greek original text from which the Church Slavonic text is assumed to have been translated.
