Abstract

This paper is a reaction to the Girona Manifesto on Linguistic Rights and the fact
that it is too vague and exceedingly concise in certain points, and thus open to multiple
interpretations. The paper also criticises the International Mother Language Day and its
origins. Both points require linguistic re-evaluation because of their intentions regarding
the language preservation.
