The discriminating power of non-intellectual variables among three discrete intellectual groups

Sažetak
A multiple group discriminant function analysis using the 21 motor variables was performed in order to determine the ability of the motor items to discriminate among the three discrete groups of intellectual performance. The multiple group discriminant function analysis not only provided a test for the equality of motor aptitude mean vectors for the three groups, but also yielded the classification of the subjects into intellectual groups using only the motor variables. There was a significant difference in motor performance among high, medium and low intellectual groups of preadolescent children in favoru of the high group, followed by the medium and low groups, in that order (especially with coordination items). Therefore, the integrated development of the child was found to be a tenable concept.
