Sažetak

The relationship between the abilities to produce muscle force, where the number of contractions or the duration of isometric contraction are more important than the magnitude of force (topological factors of repetitive and static strength), and other motoric abilities (explosive strength, dynamometric force, coordination, speed, flexibility, precision in aiming and shooting and balance) were investigated using the canonical correlation analysis.
To a sample of 693 male subjects, 19-27 years of age, 12 tests of repetitive strength and 85 tests of other motoric abilities were administrated. Sis canonical correlational analyses were carried out, each between one group of strength tests (arm, trunk and leg static strength and arm, trunk and leg repetitive strength tests) and other tests of motoric abilites.
The results of the first three canonical analyses, between tests assessing topological factors of static strength and other motoric abilities, showed that the canonical correlation between the first pairs of canonical dimensions was relatively high. The covariability was explained on the basis of the functioning of the mechanism for excitation duration regulation in the primary motoric centers, which is connected with the inhibitors of unpleasant sensations form the active musculature.
The results of the remaining three caonical analyses, between tests assessing toplogical factors of repetitive strength and other motoric tests, showed relatively high relationships between the first pairs of canonical dimensions and were interpreted in the same way, i. e. as the consequence of the regulative mechanism of excitation duration functioning in the primary motoric centers. This mechanism is, of course, connected with the inhibitors of unpleasent sensations.
The correlations of other pairs of canonical factors were remarkably lower and were interpreted on the basis of physiological mechanisms which regulate the processes of excitation and synergetic processes (in acordance with Pavlov's Setchenov's and Anohin's theories) and on the basis of anthropometric factors.
