Abstract

Oral melanoma is one of the most frequent oral malignant tumors in dogs. Senior dogs are usually affected. These tumors are more common in dogs with pigmented mucous membranes. Diagnosis is based on cytology, histopathology and immunohistochemistry. An amelanotic tumor represents a diagnostic challenge because it can mimic different tumors.
