Abstract

On the basis of relevant historiographical literature and sources, this paper provides a historical analysis and overview of the noble family of Gorjansky, one of the most important noble genera of the Hungarian-Croatian Kingdom. Particular attention is paid to the period from the acquisition of the Gorjan estate in Vukovar County to the death of Palatine Nikola I. Gorjanski. It also provides an overview of the socio-political turmoil in the Hungarian-Croatian Kingdom from 1382 to 1387.
