Sažetak

Pesticides use in modern agriculture practices is one of the essential measures for protecting crops from the pests. Food safety is one of the major objectives of modern agriculture. Food safety depends on maximum residues level (MRL) that is determined for each pesticide on each culture where it is approved. Respect of pesticide prescription, its dose (or prescribed concentration) and harvest period are essential to achieved safe food. Application of a higher dose then prescribed could induce unsafe food, phytotoxicity, contamination of the environment, pest resistance development and financial loss for the producer.
