Sažetak
Objective. To identify the incidence of the cervix cancer in pregnant women and to describe the characteristics of each individual case that was diagnosed. Methods. In the period from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2004 are analyzed 16,071 pregnant women who were hospitalized at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinical Hospital Osijek. Results. Histological finding of cervical cancer was established in 4 pregnant women (2.5 out of 10,000), and 22 pregnant women (14 out of 10,000) had precancerous lesions (CIN III). Average age of pregnant women with cancer was 35.5 years, and average age of women with invasive cervical cancer was in general 53.4 years. One pregnant woman had FIGO stage IA1, two women had stage IB2, and one had stage IIA. The size of the primary tumor in pregnant women with clinical cancer was 6, 6.5 and 7 cm, and all treated women had positive lymph nodes in the small pelvis (1, 5 and 9 nodes). Conclusion. In one case there was an early stromal invasion (<1 mm), which practically belongs to precancerous lesions, considering the treatment method and prediction. All other cases were clinical cancers with a large primary tumor and positive lymph nodes in the small pelvis. A patient in whom the cancer was diagnosed after parturition, died very soon after the surgery, and the others are under regular control and no illness recurrence has been noticed.
