MR Compatible Incubator – a Step Forward in Diagnostic Imaging of Neonates and New-borns

Sažetak

General supportive care of new-borns is provided in intensive care units, and includes care of required thermal environment in the incubator that provides us controlled conditions and vital functions control. The standard MR scanning is not possible because these conditions are not possible to establish in the MR units.
MR compatible incubator is a big progress in a diagnostic imaging of neonates and new-borns. Entire time of transport and MR examination process vital signs can be monitored (heart rate, oxygen saturation, temperature and humidity levels inside the incubator). MR compatible incubator offered the examination of preterm infants at lower gestational age. Image quality is increased and reduced need for anaesthesia or sedation.
