Abstract

The shape of plots can influence the accuracy of graphic determination of their areas. The areas of plots having regular stretched shape can contain larger errors than it is allowed for twofold measurements comparing them with those calculated from the measured data. The errors can be caused by the shape of plots, although all graphic controls can be within permitted limits. It should be pointed out that such errors would not be discovered by plot digitising.
