Abstract

The paper explains topographic and thematic maps with special regard to communication line representations. Unlike the classic and static cartographic representations, the digital cartography enables not only faster map making but also different ways of map data analysing. One of such analysis is the shortest path, tracing between two given points. The paper describes and illustrates how the application of AutoCAD Map can perform the shortest path tracing.
