Discoptychites oenensis n. sp. and the accompanying ammonite fauna from Anisian deposits in Brotinja, Lika, Central Croatia

Sažetak

The Brotinja assemblage consists of a small ammonite fauna from Middle Triassic (Anisian) deposits. A number of taxa have been identified, including the following genera: Discoptychites, Flexoptychites, Gymnites, and Arcestes (Proarcestes). To this Anisian assemblage, we can add a newly discovered species, Discoptychites oenensis n. sp. Results of the research at Brotinja significantly strengthen our understanding of the details of the complex tectonics of the region
