Sažetak

The study talks about the work of professor Júlie Schneider, a teacher from Zmajevac, who studied the cultural history of the Hungarian population in Baranja. Her civic name is Júlia Schneider, but in articles and books she uses the pseudonym Júlia Baranyai. She began her research work in the period after the Second World War. She has published two books and many studies but only in Hungarian. In addition to her research and pedagogical work, she also founded an ethnological-historical museum collection in Zmajevac. The aim of this study is to acquaint the professional public with hers life and work on preserving the traditional heritage of the Hungarian national community in Baranja by presenting the history of the creation of the local museum collection.
