Sažetak

Digital transformation is a source of new and changed business models that change market conditions. Digital platforms facilitate access to global market for enterprises of all sizes. However, taking a dominant position in the market and abusing the market power of digital platforms are common forms of distortion of competition. The aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of digital platforms on competition. Based on a critical approach and grouping of alternative attitudes around market regulation and competition, a model was developed in which key problems and potential solutions were highlighted, as well as the wider effects of competition protection in the digital market. The conclusion of the analysis indicates that it is necessary to develop new tools and criteria for market analysis, ensure greater control over supervision of acquisitions, encourage information sharing both among market participants and with the Government, revise public procurement rules and introduce customized quality standards. The importance of a supportive competitive environment is emphasized.
