Abstract

The European Commission and the European Parliament adopted the Proposal for a Regulation (EU) 2021/2115, which sets the goal of reducing the usage of chemical pesticides by 50% on an EU level by the end of 2030. Due to the increasing incidence of pest resistance, withdrawal of pesticides as well as the EU politics on reducing the pesticide use, the need for finding alternative methods of pest control intensives. Hence, this paper gives the overview of biopesticides based on entomopathogenic nematodes commercially available in Croatia, its application, advantages and disadvantages, as well as their potential in control of EU priority and economic pests.
