Abstract

The paper presents the project of creating a prototype of the KNX home automation system and the development of a separate HMI system for visualization and control in the form of a web application. The prototype provides basic functionalities for control of microclimatic conditions, lighting and darkening of rooms and is fully controllable using HMI. The HMI system was developed using the free tool for visual construction of the IoT system Node-RED and its KNX Ultimate connection. Hardware selection, building and programming the KNX system using the ETS software tool are described in detail. Furthermore, the process of developing an HMI system that follows all the standards of creating a web application in the Node.js executable environment is described. The result is a prototype of the KNX HMI system that can serve as a platform for education and training or can be easily expanded and adapted as a demonstration panel.
