Sažetak

One of the most common indications for performing a cytological examination of lymph nodes
is lymphadenopathy, which can be of a local or generalized nature. By using this diagnostic method, we
can determine whether the change is of inflammatory
or neoplastic etiology. In this research, the archive of
cytological samples of the Department of Veterinary
Pathology was searched, for the period from 2009 to
2019 for findings of lymph node aspirates. A total of
330 cytological findings of lymph nodes were found,
of which 127 (38%) were diagnosed as lymphomas, in
60 (18%) cases it was not possible to establish a diagnosis, in 57 (17%) cases reactive hyperplasia was diagnosed, there were 43 (13%) cases of diagnosis such
as lipoma, melanoma, mastocytoma, etc., in 32 (10%)
cases lymphoma was suspected and in 6 (2%) cases
lymphadenitis and in 5 (2%) cases reactive hyperplasia was suspected. Lymphoma is the most common
malignant disease of the hematopoietic system in
dogs and includes a whole series of clinically and morphologically different forms of neoplasia of lymphoid
cells. Lymphoma can easily be diagnosed or suspected
by cytological examination
