Sažetak

In recent years, interaction of the local population with wolves (Canis lupus) has become more frequent. Wolves most often cause damage in extensive livestock farming and represent a potential danger for livestock guardians and hunting dogs. As a result, the number of illegal activities, such as illegal killing and poisoning, has also increased. To detect illegal activities related to strictly protected species, efforts are being made by the competent authorities to establish a unified system of action. This report describes gunshot injuries and death in a gray wolf caused by a Brenneke shotgun slug at close range. Moreover, it describes the importance of coordinated cooperation between the competent authorities, the processing of crime scenes, and the collection and monitoring of material evidence.
