Sažetak

Flax has been cultivated for thousands of years for its seeds and fibers. The processing and storage methods contribute greatly to the presence and popularity of flax on the market. Recently, flax has been increasingly used as a natural composite in the production of various materials such as car parts and the like. With modern technology, refinement allows flax fibers to become stronger and more durable, bringing them closer to man-made materials to be a competitor in the textile and construction industries in the future. The processing itself influences the quality of the seeds and oils, both for medical purposes and in the food industry. With the development of storage technology, flax is no longer a crop whose processing ends shortly after harvest, but by improving storage conditions, it is possible to process it throughout the season, with minimal change in the quality of the fibers and seeds for further processing.
