Sažetak

This paper focuses on how the themes of racial discrimination and xenophobic fears are presented and explained in Sam Selvon’s novel The Lonely Londoners by enumerating various examples of prejudices and stereotypes that the main characters are depicted facing, enduring and reflecting upon. These instances include the mainstream media spreading misleading discourse directed against West Indian immigrants, the migrants being blocked from resources, the low-paid positions being reserved exclusively for them, the British population expressing intolerance towards people of color, as well as the feelings of self-hatred emerging among the migrants as a result of their mistreatment.
