Sažetak

Greenhouses represent all the ways of protecting plants from unfavorable climatic conditions, which enable production on a certain area and in a certain time, while the same production is not possible at the open field. Their main purpose is to preserve the heat accumulated from the sunlight energy or introduced by heating systems. Depending on the greenhouse type and equipment, it is possible to regulate certain vegetation (growing) factors (temperature, relative humidity, duration and intensity of lighting, CO2 concentration) to a certain degree. Based on the interaction of vegetation factors, plants need to be supplied with optimal amounts of water and nutrients in order to ensure continuous growth and development. In a modern greenhouses, high-pressure sodium lamps or LED lamps are used for supplemental lighting. Warm air and hot water heating systems are used to maintain optimal temperatures during the cold part of the year, while during the spring-summer period different methods of lowering the temperature are used (ventilation, shading, fogging, fan and pad cooling). Air enrichment with carbon dioxide is carried out with special equipment and a distribution system, only during sunny (bright) and cold days, when the ventilation is opened less often, just to lower the air relative humidity.
