Absolute measurement of the electron-argon atom total ionization cross section

Sažetak
Total electron impact ionization cross sections for the argon atom in the energy range from 19-200 have been measured. Very careful atom target gas pressure and temperature, as well as collection length calibrations have been done. The results obtained are in agreement with data of Rapp and Englander Golden. The analysis of all possible sources of errors is presented and their contributions determined.
