Sažetak
The idea of the end of science has been more intense for several decades. But even a hundred years ago it was talked about. In our era, and especially in the era of announced transhumanism, science has lost its orientation, reducing itself exclusively to technical, medical, geoengineering, military and other applications. The paper discusses science, technique and technology yesterday and today, as well as the origins of transhumanism, its basic features, definitions and criticism. The importance of science and technology in human life is emphasized as the main means by which nature and human life can be managed. In transhumanism, the center of the so-called a transhuman and posthuman being that is no longer a human but a transhumanoid that has no individuality, personality, or freedom. Thus, science, as a free and creative activity of a free being, ceased to be a human science. The salvation of science and man lies only in the return to true human values and wisdom that science has lost.
