Sažetak
The population of nurses falls into a high-risk group for the development of chronic work-related injuries, with a significantly higher incidence of musculoskeletal disorders compared to other medical personnel. Risk factors include inadequately equipped workplaces, a large workload per healthcare worker, and a lack of education related to injury prevention. Patient transfers can be singled out as a separate group of risk factors, posing challenges for both the patients and the medical staff who carry them out, most often nurses. A study conducted on a sample of 110 respondents indicated a high prevalence of pain in various body regions among nurses. The survey results showed that 72,7% of respondents believe that their current knowledge of ergonomics and biomechanics is insufficient to maintain their health during patient transfers, while 97,3% expressed interest in receiving education in collaboration with physiotherapists.
