Sažetak
Blockchain technology represents a revolutionary tool in the transformation of healthcare systems. As a distributed digital ledger, it enables secure, transparent, and decentralized storage of health data. Its application in healthcare encompasses a wide range of activities, including tracking the pharmaceutical supply chain, ensuring transparency in clinical trials, improving the efficiency of health insurance systems, and enhancing patients' control over their own data. Decentralization reduces the risk of fraud, improves system interoperability, and accelerates administrative processes. Despite its vast potential, blockchain faces challenges such as scalability, high implementation costs, and complex regulatory frameworks. However, technological innovations, such as off-chain storage and global efforts to harmonize legal regulations, can significantly advance its adoption. The application of blockchain is particularly beneficial in areas such as personalized medicine and pandemic management, where it enables secure data exchange and greater efficiency in healthcare interventions. This paper analyses key applications of blockchain in healthcare, explores its advantages and challenges, and proposes concrete measures for future implementation, including the development of technological solutions, alignment of legal frameworks, and education of healthcare professionals. Blockchain technology offers significant opportunities to enhance data security, optimize resources, and increase trust in healthcare systems, positioning itself as a key tool in the modernization of global healthcare.
