Abstract

The graphical determination of the true total line intensity and the true halfwidth of Lorentz component from optically thin Voigt type line profile was analysed. The corrections for total line intensity and Lorentz halfwidth, as well as the correction for continuum background intensity were calculated as the function of the arbitrary determined continuous background. The calculations were carried, for a > 1.4 where Voigt function could be well approximated with simple expansion. The assumption is that the halfwidth of Doppler component is known.
