Abstract
Criminal intelligence is gaining significant importance in implementing the concept of societal security. It does not represent a revolutionary way of performing police activities. The police continue to adhere to the most important principles of leadership, community policing, problem-focused policing and analysis. In order to make policing more effective in the fight against crime, the United Kingdom Police was the first in the world to develop a model of intelligence-led policing based on the implementation of a complex, structured, and endless intelligence cycle. The functioning and effectiveness of the model are far from simple. Despite its problems, the United Kingdom's criminal intelligence model remains the perfect template on which police forces around the world and various international organisations base their criminal intelligence models.
