Sažetak
The "Digital Image" course at the Zagreb university of applied sciences explores new developments in digital raster graphics and Adobe Photoshop every academic year. Students learn how to process images in Adobe Photoshop and at the end of the semester they create a project in which they apply the knowledge they have acquired during the semester. One of the topics covered in the student project is "low-poly" graphics, in which a digital image is represented with a grid of simple shapes, usually triangles. This technique simplifies the complexity of the image and reduces the file size by using a grid of single-colour triangles. "Low-poly" is important in 3D modelling to simplify 3D models and speed up rendering, especially in video games that require real-time processing. Its effectiveness has led to its application in various areas of design. Students have applied the "low-poly" technique to images of fictional Pokémon characters. This paper describes in detail the process of creating these graphics in the Adobe Photoshop programme.
