„1234 Sniježnica Vol. 2”

Sažetak
The Speleological Department of the Croatian Mountaineering Club „Sniježnica” organized a speleological expedition called „1234 Sniježnica Vol. 2”. This was a continuation of the extensive research from June 2022, when the first official expedition on Sniježnica took place. To prepare for this year's expedition, department members tirelessly surveyed the northern slopes of Sniježnica, navigating very challenging terrain. About 40 potential speleological objects were found, most of which were explored during the expedition, which took place from May 1st to 5th, 2024.
The expedition brought together 30 speleologists who participated in the research of 35 new pits and caves, as well as two well-known objects: Plješina – Kolumbo – U3 cave system and Glogova Pit. In total, 1000 meters have been explored and recorded. It is certain that Sniježnica will continue to be explored more frequently and systematically. So far, only a small part of the unexplored area between Glogova Pit, Plješina – Kolumbo – U3 cave system and the camp location has been explored. The research was once again supported by numerous sponsors and donors whose donations enabled the purchase of extremely high-quality and much-needed equipment.
