Abstract

The author presents an overview of the history of Vinodol in a summary form, starting from the earliest days to the arrival of the governance of the princes of Krk, the subsequent Frankopans. Just at the time of their reign in Vinodol there was a liberalization regarding masters and subjects, which was determined and became known as the Vinodol Law on 6th January 1288. Following the conditions in certain towns of the former Principality of Vinodol, it shows the Vinodol inhabitants’ ways of life, their relationships with the wider communities and their reflection on the local conditions. It is wellknown that Vinodol, along with rich cultural heritage, has also produced a number of important people in the fields of sciences and the arts, and plenty of space is devoted to it in this paper. The view of Vinodol's history ends with an emphasis on the transformation and new methods of development, which results in a new contemporary
way of life.
