Abstract

The author describes the Uskok and Officer family Zdunić, whose members used to reside in the citadel settlement Ledenice. Family Zdunić belong to the Bunjevački branch of the Krmpotić family, and they originally came from the village Buhova in west Herzegovina. The commander of the citadel Ledenice and the city Novi Vinodolski was Pavao Krmpotić, son of Juraj Krmpotić the first in lineage of this Uskok-Officer family. The declaration of assignation of nobility and the coat of arms was awarded to brothers Ivan, Pavle and Nikola for their remarkable actions in the battles against Ottomans in the region of Vojna Krajina by Tsar Leopold. The author also brings us a short family tree which is today safeguarded by the descendants of the family Zdunić.
