Sažetak
The author critically edits eight documents pertaining to medieval Istria, which
have not yet been published in extenso: 1) the oath of allegiance to the Aquileian
Patriarch and Istrian Margrave Berthold V and Count Maynard III of Gorizia, sworn
by the citizens of the Commune of Valle-Bale on March 24, 1225, apologizing for
their previous offenses; 2) the arbitration ruling of Count Maynard III of Gorizia
issued on June 6, 1234, in the dispute over the borders between the communes
of Cittanova-Novigrad and S. Giorgio-Sv. Juraj; 3) the arbitration ruling of Leonard
in the dispute between the communes of Capodistria-Koper and Aquileia issued
on February 9, 1264; 4) the oath of allegiance of the communal authorities of
Parenzo-Poreč - the three consuls and councillors - given on April 24, 1266, to the
Aquileian Patriarch Gregory of Montelongo; 5) the oath of allegiance to the Aquileian
Patriarch and Istrian Margrave Gregory of Montelongo sworn by all the citizens of
Parenzo-Poreč on April 25, 1266, apologizing for their previous offenses during
the regime of podestà Giovanni Corner; 6) the election of a representative of the
Commune of Capodistria-Koper on March 26, 1292, sent to the Venetian Doge to
confirm and renew Koper’s subjection to Venice; 7) the election of a representative
of the Commune of Isola-Izola on May 1, 1292, sent to the Venetian Doge to confirm
Izola’s subjection to Venice; 8) the confirmation and renewal of Koper’s subjection
to Venice given on May 7, 1291.
