Abstract

The author gives a concise list of ancient archaeological heritage from the Croatian Coastal Region, that is, the area from the mouth or the river Rječina to the city of Senj. This is the least researched area in Croatia. The first organised museum work and research were done in the thirties of the twentieth century but they were connected to a long period of limited opportunities of the staff of the City of Sušak Museum or after World War 2, the Croatian Costal Museum. Well-known ancient localities in Bakar, Jadranovo, Crikvenica, Selce or Novi Vinodolski haven’t been continuously researched so their ancient building heritage hasn’t been presented within these settlements.
