Abstract

The author finds an error in the interpretation of one sentence from the introduction. The statute is written in the Chackavian dialect in Vinodol in 1288. The transcript dates from the 16th century. The introduction of the Vinodol statute, article 4 and some other provisions can be better interpreted according to today’s Chackavian speakers. A new proposal for its reading is
given (narejenje= agreement, pojid= worry, strići= to serve).
