Sažetak
The article brings new insights into the life and
work of Jacob Fleischmann, Bjelovar’s first bookseller,
publisher and printer, active from 1875 to 1902. His
publishing and printing legacy is analysed, with a specific
review of his most important publications. Fleischmann’s
contribution to the development of the
Bjelovar Jewish community was also emphasized, as
well as his role in the political, economic, social and
cultural life of the Bjelovar-Križevci County.
