Abstract
The comparison of the Peasants’ Revolt of 1573 in
Croatia with the Peasants’ Revolt of 1514 in Hungary is
carried out through thematic units which enabled the
basis for historical comparison. It encompasses the
processes that took place before the revolts themselves
and reveals the causes and motives for their outbreak.
The prosopographical approach compares the two
leaders and main protagonists of the uprisings and provides
comparative analysis of the course of the two
revolts. Finally, it provides a review and draws parallels
in the consequences and results of the revolts. This
type of work facilitates creation of a comparative historical
narrative and illuminates the similarities and
differences of seemingly the same historical phenomena
and processes in different time span and geographical
location.
