Sažetak
The Cataloging and Classification portal of the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) is an important resource for the standardization of cataloging in Croatian libraries. The article describes the purpose and significance of the Portal, which serves as a central hub for catalogers, providing access to rules, standards, and guidelines for consistent cataloging and classification in accordance with international norms. The structure of the Portal is examined in detail, including sections for descriptive and subject cataloging, authority control, and the application of the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC). Statistical indicators are presented with regard to the Portal’s traffic in the period from 2019 to 2024. The article analyzes the advantages of the Portal, such as having standardized rules in one place, but also its shortcomings, including limited interactivity and the need for regular content updates. The paper also cites examples of similar portals, such as those of the Library of Congress, the German National Library, and the National Library of the Czech Republic. The Portal is an important tool for librarians, offering information on cataloging and classification in one place.
