Abstract

On-line monitoring is automated supervision. Benefits and scope of transformer on-line monitoring, choice of transformers, and quantities that are going to be monitored should be determined by the transformer owner. A short review of transformer on-line monitoring systems is given, as well as the most common quantities that should be monitored, and directives for the selection of a monitoring system.
