10(20)/0,4 kV TRANSFORMER STATION OF SMALL TOWER TYPE IN CIRCUMSTANCES OF INCREASED CONSUMPTION; NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND AESTHETIC NEEDS
Ivo Santica
Abstract
In distribution network of mid-voltage some sentimental feelings are connected to 10(20)/0,4 kV transformer station of small tower type. The station was first used in electrification and has not been built for 30-35 years. Consumption increase and bigger needs for voltage quality gradually eliminate still existing small tower from daily usage. New tower transformer stations and new cable stations are constructed as foreseen by HEP norms. But some small towers are being refurbished, using new technology, rearranged to new needs. They remain an important element of the distribution network. The paper will try to present real technical possibilities and evaluation of refurbishment as well as to show the reconstruction realised. In some way this is homage to small type transformer station and to the period when it was designed. The older technical staff should remember and the younger should be shown how technical solutions are temporary in the operation of electric energy distribution.
