Program cards in weaving technology

Abstract

Despite the development and high production of electronically controlled dobby and Jacquard looms, mechanical machines using program cards remain widely used due to their cost-effectiveness, simplicity, and ease of maintenance. Program cards are available in a wide range, so this article presents the basic classification of cards by size, material type, and quality. The main characteristics of each card type, including both advantages and disadvantages, are described. An overview of additional equipment is provided, along with a description of its use in specific operations with program cards.
