Sažetak
The first Dalmatian newspaper concerned with
administrative-political matters «Il Regino / Kraljski Dalmatin»
was a two-language Italian/Croatian printed paper. As the original
text was edited in Italian, the need was felt for versed translators
able to quickly and correctly translate from Italian into Croatian.
The translators, who had been translating on behalf of Kraljsli
Dalmatin throuthout the four years of publication, contributing in
that way to national consciousness and expressing the need for
stanradisation of the Croatian language, were as follows: Paško
Jukić, Andrija Kadčić, Ivan Hreljanović Albinoni, Nikola Dominik
Budrović, and Nikola Sandrić. Translation work of the translators
was not controversial but for the work of Nikola Sandrić who was
a certified translator and interpreter to the General Governer of
Zadar. Therefore, the first part of the article briefly explains the
so far acquied knowledge of KraljskiDalmatin translators as well
as new proofs in support of the argument that Nikola Sandrić
did make translations for KraljskiDalmatin. The further part
submits for consideration the transcription of the original archival
documents refering to Sandrić as being involved in the translation
work of Kraljski Dalmatin.
