Sažetak

When the European Union started their new program the LEADER, with a completely new approach, there were a lot of skeptics against the initiative based on local developments. Since then the system has proven to be successful and after the accession to the European Union Hungary can also take part in such projects. This study is to evaluate the experiences of the fi rst application period on the example of the region of South Transdanubia.
