Abstract
The aim of this paper is to accentuate the issues in scientific and professional advancement which, among other things, depends on publishing papers in journals indexed in certain bibliographic databases. When choosing a database, the entire scientific and professional community should be involved, which is often not the case. For this reason the bibliographic database Polymer Library Database, specialised in polymer science, technology and engineering, has been analyzed.
