Abstract

The third part of the monograph provides an overview of the Regulations for the Inspection and Testing of Pressure Equipment published in Narodne novine no. 138/08. The Regulations are national in character and do not incorporate any of the European Union directives. The reason for this is the difference in the levels of technical development of the member states, so for the time being these matters continue to be governed by national laws. Attached are the Regulations for the Inspection and Testing of Pressure Equipment (N.N. no. 138/08) for stationary pressure equipment. The equipment is divided into two groups: low risk equipment supervised by the owner or user, and high risk equipment also supervised by the owner or user but inspected and tested by an authorised body trained to inspect and test such equipment. The Regulations cover all stationary equipment under pressure operating at a pre-pressure of more than 1 bar.
Pursuant to a Croatian Government's decision, the inspection and testing of pressure equipment is entrusted to the specially formed Pressure Equipment Agency (OPT Agencija) with competence to inspect and test high risk stationary pressure equipment.
