Abstract
Development of modern endoscopic neurosurgery is related to the technical improvement
of endoscopic equipment and endoscopic instruments miniaturization. Despite
the fact that the beginning of neuroendoscopy dates to early twentieth century, the integration
of neuroendoscopy into common neurosurgical practice in still not complete. Neuroendoscopy
in general relates to intraventricular neuroendoscopy, especially for the treatment
of various forms of hydrocephalus. Neurosurgical endoscopic techniques have
found their place in all areas of neurosurgery, from spinal surgery to the technically demanding
skull base surgery. Today, neuroendoscopy along with microneurosurgery incorporates
the concept of minimally invasive neurosurgery.e.
