Abstract

The eff ort of the international community to put the question of the international rule of law in focus of interest of international and national law resulted in process of intensifying the migration of constitutional ideas (constitutional borrowing, the constitutional bricolage ...). This process illuminating in a particular way the contemporary position of a national constitution and as well the science of comparative constitutional law. Author points out the general characteristics of that situation and its refl ections in the Republic of Croatia. The fundamental question is whether the processes of migration of constitutional ideas, constitutional borrowing or constitutional bricolage aff ect the role of constitutions and constitutionalism at the national level and what are the consequences of it at the field of fruitful interplay between identity, strengthening and preserving diversity?
