Abstract

In this paper, the author analyses the idea of anthropocentrism, with a special emphasis on idea the idea of ethical anthropocentrism,
in view of environmental crisis and biocentric paradigm. Ideational position makes up the dissent with claims of radical biocentric concept of nature and life, which goes in direction of egalitarian levelling of natural forms of life. In these terms, the author tries to show that biocentric paradigm, together with environmental crisis, is an offspring of modern conception of a man, nature and life, and not genuinely biblical and Christian conception. This knowledge has the
main role in a review on epistemological, logical and ethical dimensions of biocentric concept of nature and life, because it
has been shown that with the analysis of these dimensions radical demands of biocentric concept of nature and life are infused sometimes with radical critique at the expense of Christian concept of nature and life, which is not only unjustified but misses the target. The radical biocentric concept takes as a starting point, namely, some theoretical presumptions which are not neither scientifically nor philosophically proved, and on the basis of a critique of these presumptions, further in the text, the author tries to direct the whole discourse toward philosophical overcoming of pointed out dissent between biocentrism and anthropocentrism, after the fashion of logical and real giving prominence of ontological dignity of all living creatures, but in accordance with their moral status within objective hierarchical structure of nature and life, including naturally a man.
