Abstract

The experimental production of common carp fingerlings until they are one-year-old, was performed in two cultural stages. The first part of the experiment included production from fry to 40-day-old fingerlings. Three million of fry (1.900.000 indha-1) were stocked in two ponds (R3 and R4). The average individual mass after fourty days was 1,2 g. The food conversion was 0,78 and survival 24,6%.
The second stage of the experiment included part these fingerlings in quantities of 70. 000 indha-1 into three ponds (R1, R2, and R3) while 156.000 indha-1 of them were stocked in pond R4.
During both stages of the experiment, the concentrated, complex food was used, made by a fish food producer from Ptuj, Slovenia, who prepared it according to the formula prescribed by the Departement for Fiaheries, Bee-keeping and Special Zoology of the Faculty of Agriculture at Zagreb University, Croatia. The average mass of fish after overwintering, insured the production of 2. 959 gh ha-1 along with a very good survival of 76, 6% and food conversion of 2,16.
