BELT BUCKLES OF THE ITALIC TYPE ON THE EASTERN ADRIATIC

Sineva Kukoč ; Sveučilište u Zadru – Odjel za arheologiju

Abstract

Four belt buckles with a palmette from the eastern Adriatic (cremation grave 4B in Dragišić, burial in grave IV from Vičja luka on the island of Brač, and buckles from Otišić and Asseria) represent import from the Apennine Peninsula. They are a part of production of the Italic („Samnite“) buckles worn on metal undecorated belts. They all belong to the a foglia type, in different variants.
